For travellers who appreciate extra comfort and a smooth arrival process we offer an optional VIP Meet & Greet Service at an additional cost. -
Fast-track assistance through passport control

Guided support to baggage claim
-
Help with firearm collection, if applicable

A smooth handover to your Unico Safaris host in the arrivals area
If you choose not to make use of the VIP service, rest assured that a Unico Safaris representative will still be waiting for you in the arrivals hall to offer a warm welcome and assist with luggage or firearm collection as needed. You will be escorted safely in a secured vehicle to the camp.
At Unico Safaris, your comfort and peace of mind are our priority—from the moment your feet touch South African soil.
Health Information
No vaccinations are required to visit South Africa, and all our hunting areas are malaria-free. If you plan to extend your travels to the Kruger National Park or join certain photographic excursions outside the country, malaria medication may be recommended and can be discussed before your trip.
Weather & Temperature Expectations
South Africa’s seasons are opposite to those in North America, with our winter falling during the North American summer. Mornings during safari season are usually crisp and cool, warming throughout the day and cooling again toward sunset. Dressing in layers is recommended as temperatures can vary between riding in the safari vehicle and walking in the bush.

What to Pack
Laundry is done daily, so three to four sets of hunting clothing are more than sufficient. Khaki, camouflage, or other neutral colors are recommended. Dressing in layers is ideal, as daily temperatures can fluctuate significantly. Hats, hunting/hiking shoes are essential.
Final Payments
After your safari, the outstanding balance can be paid in U.S. dollars, Credit cards or via wire transfer.
Your Trophies
Field preparation of your trophies is included in the daily rate. This includes skinning and salting your trophies for either shipment or local taxidermy. We handle this process with great care, as we understand how meaningful these trophies are. Field preparation does not include dip-and-pack services, or any additional taxidermy performed in South Africa.
We work closely with trusted expediters and clearing agents and will assist you through every step of getting your trophies safely home. Our recommended taxidermy studio is situated close to Unico’s Main Camp, and we can easily arrange a visit for you to discuss your trophy needs, view their work, and receive a detailed quotation.
