Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park was named after Paul Kruger, President of the Zuid-Afrikaanche Republiek. It was Paul Kruger who had the foresight to establish the Sabie Game Reserve in the Transvaal Lowveld in 1898. Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It swallows up 20000 Km (7800 sq miles) of hot, lush lowveld. To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique. Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls is a waterfall located in the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa. The falls are some of the largest in the world and are part of two National Parks: The Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe. The Victoria Falls are just over 1.7 Km (355 Miles) wide and 108 meter (355 feet) high. During the wet season over 500 million liters (19 million cubic feet) of water plummets over the edge into the Zambezi River. This incredible amount of water generates a huge amount of spray which shoots 305 meter (1000 feet) into the sky and can be seen 48 Km (30 miles) away, hence the name Mosi-oa-Tunya (The smoke that thunders). The unique geography of the falls means you can watch them face-on and get to enjoy the full force of the spray, noise and spectacular rainbows that are always present. The Victoria Falls are one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. If you`re planning a trip to Southern Africa you simply have to witness this mile-long curtain of falling water. As the explorer David Livingstone remarked when he first saw them : "Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight".
